see that's the type of question i like la. i mean, not that i would tell the answer la. but at least he asked me. i guess cuz it's sorta an assuming question so i liked it? i mean, all he did was figure out from both the FB profiles and also the pics from FB. of course this i'm assuming too as well. haha.

Can You Handle The Truth?

interesting question from the tag i believe. but what does it mean?

well, to me, i guess it's when people tell you the truth, can you accept it? and i guess when we're talking about truth here, i guess it means facts. like pure facts.

some truths are opinion based too. like just say person A doesn't like person B's shirt, so the truth in this case is simply person B's shirt doesn't appeal to person A's taste. but this is just for person A. some other person may have a different opinion. but it's still the truth that person A doesn't like the shirt.

so those are truths. facts i guess. so the question can you handle the truth basically asks if you can accept facts. even if you don't like it.

but is it bad if you can't accept the truth?

i don't know actually. i guess it would be natural if some certain stuff you couldn't accept. for example, if person B disagrees with person A about the shirt. does that mean that person B can't accept the truth?

no, i don't think so at least. because that's an opinion based truth and not a universal truth. what may be ugly in someone's view may be beautiful to someone else.

and i guess it's fine too when you don't like the truth as well. i mean at least you accept it. but doesn't mean you have to like it.

and i guess in a case where the truth can't be accepted in times where the news is shocking, out of the blue, is also a special case too. something like, you find out your friend you just had a drink with just passed away, and well, it'd be hard to believe wouldn't it? but does that fall under not accepting the truth? well, i guess it does, but i believe it's not wrong in itself because the truth in this case is shocking.


so when is not being able to handle the truth a bad thing?

well, honestly, who am i to say, but i guess the only logical time would be when it's facts and it's not opinion based and it's not shocking. i guess an example would be someone telling that smoking is bad for you. hey, it's a known fact and it's not opinion based and not shocking. but you deny it, saying you can't live without it. because you've grown addicted to it. and you refuse to believe the truth. this is when i would say you can't handle the truth.

i guess what i'm trying to say is when someone tells you the TRUTH, will you shove it aside because it's not what you wanna hear? even when it's right and true. will you throw it out the window because it is true and you don't want to hear it?

thats when you can't handle the truth.
